Nexium 20 mg tablet, USP, is used to treat gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and other conditions caused by acid reflux (abstinence). The active ingredient in Nexium is esomeprazole. The tablets are manufactured in the USP and are available in blister packs of 2 mg, 3 mg, 4 mg, 5 mg, 6 mg, and 7.5 mg.
Nexium 20 mg is indicated for the short-term treatment of conditions related to the upper esophagus (gulovesicle).
Esomeprazole belongs to the group of medicines called proton pump inhibitors (PPIs).
Nexium 20 mg is used to treat GERD, which is a condition in which the upper esophageal tissue, called the esophagus, becomes inflamed and has to be removed surgically. Nexium 20 mg is also used to treat gastric ulcers (Gullet Ulcers).
Nexium 20 mg is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to any component of the medication.
